Are you for or against circumcision?

Please give your reasons why you are for or against it.

Thank you.

I'm pro choice!
Cut it! Looks sexier and is easier to keep clean.
neither, but an argument for it is in the bible.... every male had to be circumcised and it represents the covenant between abraham and god... or something like that
I am not either.

But I will not circumcise my sons when they are brought into this world. They strap the boy down.. i couldn't do that to my baby.. I am his mother to protect him, not subject him to pain that does nothing to help him.
for men im for you get to many germs and diseases for girls against
I am for circumcision due to health reasons. It cuts down on infections in males. Also I am an RN who works in surgery and we have numerous older males whose foreskin will not retract causing the need for circumcision later in life. Why not do it when the child is born, the pain is greatly reduced as an infant and the child will not remember the procedure. By the way a circumcision later in life is much more complicated than when done on an infant.
bottomline there is no "reason" for it. However we've created a society that used to perform circumcision on over 80 perecent of the population...now down to the mid 50's.

When it came time for my son to have it done , i buckled and allowed it, but in the back of my mind I knew it was unnecessary.

On Big Brother 9 one of the contestants in uncircumcised and they made a big deal about it. Some women are repulsed, but they sound like 3 year olds not wanting to try thier vegetables.
doesn't matter at all.

It had a religious meaning in the old testement of the Bible, but after Jesus came to earth it was no longer necessary so
its completly up to the person.

I am circumcised

its a lot safer, the skin can get infected.
I am for Circumcision.
Why? Well, for one thing it is much more easier to keep from getting dirty and infected. Second is that without a circumcision it is hard to get an orgasm (which might I guess would play out well for women). I think every guy now gets a circumcision nowadays. Why wouldn't they? But if your above three years old, I wouldn't get one because you will remember the pain you felt when it happened.
CUT IT!
There is no circumcision in any animal species with hundreds and millions and billions of population over hundred and millions of years and the diverse variety and incidence of sexually transmitted diseases in animals is very low including AIDS is unheard of. The purity of mind objectively for procreation and not for pornography and other idiotic misadventures in all the animal species is objective and self explanatory as well and are without any social, cultural, religious and or medical doctrines, preached, practised and or enforced!

Is there a message and observation to consider from the Nature for the human beings, on the ethics, virtues and blessings of the Nature and God!
I'm against it. I don't want to write an essay on it (because I have plenty of information against circumcision and its drawbacks and how being circumcised is stupid), so I'll just give one simple link why.

Circumcision is for lazy people simply put. It's not hard to clean. Lemme break it down for ya:

1. Pull foreskin back
2. Wash it
3. Put the foreskin back.

Wow. 3 steps that take about 2 minutes. Shows American laziness, doesn't it? (I'm american, btw.)
not really for or against but in psychology we learned that a cut men will generally lose sensitivity down there, they won't be as satisfied .
Against, strongly! For many, many reasons. Do you really think that its "just extra skin" that doesn't really hurt newborns?!? Research has shown that newborns pain receptors react to pain MORE intensely than adults! And studies of circumcision pain where stopped before completion because it was clear that the babies were in agony (heart rate, pulse ox, respirations, etc). The penis is supposed to have a foreskin. It protects the penis. In uncut men the head is soft and moist, just like the inside of your vagina. When they cut off that skin, the head drys up and looses sensitivity. I happen to think that labia look pretty gross, but I'm guessing you aren't willing to part with yours? I can't imagine why guys would want to go down on that- yuck! But nobodys cutting the labia off of little girls.

For the record, men who are cut as adults often report that the pain is not bad at all. When grown men get it done, first, it is THEIR choice about THEIR body, and second, they get full anesthetic (or local) and complete post-op pain care. Babys get none of that. Can you imagine having an open genital wound in diapers? -Neb
i was circumcised when i was born-after 47 years haven't had any bad effects yet-lol-i find out most women prefer it
I am totally against it. Ever since I was a kid of 12 and saw how a friend masturbated I have realised I am missing out on a lot of sexual pleasure and have been mutilated without my consent. I would willingly go through the same discomfort and pain as an adult circumcision if I could have my foreskin back but that choice has been denied me.
Circumcision is the amputation of the foreskin, not extra skin but an integral part of the penis; measuring 15 square inches in an adult and accounting for over half the penile skin, lots of specialised nerve endings and the most sensitive parts of the penis.
Not one medical organisation in the world recommends routine infant circumcision anymore but the US is the last western nation still doing this to about 50% of its newborn males. They still don't generally use anaesthetic either. It's child abuse, pure and simple.
The penis forms as one organ and at birth the foreskin is usually fused to the glans like a fingernail to its finger. So there is no cavity for germs and dirt to collect in until it separates naturally later. Only the boy himself should retract it and then he can be taught to skin back and rinse with plain water regularly.
Misguided attempts to retract too early, often by doctors and nurses, are the main cause of damage to boys’ foreskins and the real main reason for childhood circumcisions.
To perform a neo-natal circumcision the circumciser has to rip the foreskin away from the glans with forceps. Then the foreskin is either cut away or clamped until it falls off. Both methods cause the baby extreme pain and his raw glans and wound sting every time he urinates. It's quite common for the raw edges of the cut foreskin to fuse to the raw glans during the healing process, forming skin bridges or tags. These complications and other more serious ones are often not found till puberty and do not show up in complication statistics.
More serious complications, though not common are immediate. Some babies lose their penis to infection, bleed profusely (often because they are haemophiliac) or even die each year.
The claimed benefits of circumcision are a beat up (based on flawed studies) and don't really exist but medical authorities have worked out that the overall complication rate is higher than all the benefits claimed by the pro-cutting advocates. One by one the claims are disproved but the pro-cutting zealots come up with more and keep quoting the old ones despite the evidence against them. For example you have more chance of dying from a circumcision or losing your penis from infection than from penile cancer. The rate of penile cancer is higher in the largely-circumcised USA than in European countries where less than 1% of the male population is circumcised. Plus circumcised men have been found to have penile cancer, mostly on the scar. (Remember this is a very rare disease in intact or circumcised men).
A very recent study in New Zealand followed a cohort of boys through life from birth to age 32. About 40% were circumcised. The intact males had a slightly lower rate of sexually transmitted infections than the circumcised but there was no significant difference.
Using surgery to mutilate the genitals instead of washing in a modern western society makes no sense. Normal intact male genitals are, if anything, easier to wash than female ones and the same substance, smegma collects in the genital folds of both sexes. A few intact males have problems with tight foreskin but this is only a tiny proportion of intact males. The condition can now be almost always treated with simple stretching exercises, sometimes in combination with a steroid cream that speeds up the process. However doctors who do not value the preservation of the foreskin often still trot out circumcision as a first-option treatment in the US and even some other countries.
I wish I'd been given the choice to choose for myself. Intact men can choose to get cut at any time in their life, though most have no desire to do so. The internet has shown that many men resent being circumcised. It's just not something that most of us talk about a lot, even to our parents.
I am pro! Circumcised at 18 in office with a local (general is not necessary). It is cleaner, healthier for both partners (the foreskin is a bacteria and virus trap that helps spread disease) and improves sex. Having been on bothsides I can assure you the anti site generally post nothing but BS! I had no hesitation to have my sons (1&3) circumcised when they were born!
