"Experts" tell us flouride is "good" for us. but where's the proof?
They suggest that it remineralizes teeth, but again fail to provide the proof.
it DOES remineralize teeth. unfortunately, there's such a thing as too much fluoride (case in point, China, where there is so much fluoride in the water in some places teeth become so densely mineralized they're like rocks and fall out). so they know for a fact it does remineralize teeth, just can't go overboard with how much.
Actually, it doesn't remineralize anything. What it does do is convert hydroxyapatite in the enamel to fluoroapatite, which is much more resistant to acids in food and bacterial attack.
The research largely came from Appalachia in the 1930s, where the groundwater contains large amounts of fluoride. Larger amounts of fluoride in the groundwater led to a lower rate of cavity formation.
Well since 1964, when fluoride was put into Australian water, children have 45 per cent less tooth decay compared to before flouride was added.

There are some areas in the UK that have fluoride added, and it gets results. Also you can compare northern ireland and ireland. The latter has fluoride and fewer dental repairs.
