~tumor~ please read!!!!?
I have a tumor in my foot. It causes pain when i walk a lot. I have gained 10 pounds and its been worse. Do you think loseing weight would help the pain ecause of less pressure or do u think its hurting just because
Loosing weight will help as their will be less weight on the foot, therefore tumor. I think I read that one extra pound around the waist means five extra pounds of extra weight for the knees to deal with. So you do the calculation. Best of Luck
If the tumor is a neuroma (Morton's neuroma) it is usually located between (and a bit back of) two of the toe's at the area infront of the arch. It can cause burning, tingling and feels like a deep blister when you are barefoot on a smooth hard floor like tile or the bathtub. I got one from running in (running) shoes that where too tight. The bones of the foot are squeezed together by the too-tight shoes and injure the nerve. At first I was very painful. I went to an orthopedist who wanted to avoid using cortisone injections as it might irritate it more. He told me to see a pediatrist and have "unweighted" orthotics made to take the pressure off the neuroma. She (the podiatrist) also said I needed to go up a half size in all my shoes. They make the orthotics by taking a mold of your foot while you are sitting (no weight on the feet). After a few months I was able to just go around in thick socks and New Balance sneakers. Now I can run a few miles without pain. I can walk around all day as long as I'm wearing good socks and cushioned shoes, boots etc. I haven't used the orthotics in years. Loosing weight may help a little (it's also going to make things better for your knees). Avoid surgery if you can.
